Wind Mills Resort at Salt Cay

The Windmills Plantation at Salt Cay

Paradise Lost to Lost Development

The Windmills Plantation was a small luxury hotel on the beach front on Salt Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands.

It was a place that lives in your imagination. It is that perfect beach place that fills your daydreams when the care, chaos and stress of life become too much to bear. You dream of a little Inn where there are only a few other guests, so few you rarely see them…. It’s called The Windmills Plantation of Salt Cay.

The hotel consists of only 8 rooms on a 2 ½ mile deserted white sandy beach–a peaceful, quiet, friendly island with about 60 inhabitants….the way the Caribbean used to be. Donkeys and cows roam the sandy roads and most folks drive golf carts or bicycles. Evidence of this once vibrant salt producing island is seen in the old Salinas, crumbling stone ruins and the great houses of the salt barons.

The Windmills Plantation also boasts a first-rate restaurant and bar. It merges quaint accommodations and five-star cuisine with the charm of a remote island getaway.

This is a smoke-free establishment.
