Christopher Hall

Dead Slow

Christopher Hall lives in San Francisco. His very first photos were shot when he was 16 years old with a vintage Agfa 35 mm rangefinder which was a hand-me-down from his father. His interest in photography continued through his 20’s, and he spent a good deal of that time in Berlin shooting life on the street as well as learning his way around the darkroom.

He came back to photography about 7 years ago when he bought his first digital camera. Eventually, the digital landed on the shelf, and he now primarily works with color film in vintage medium format cameras. He delights in sharing the absurdity of ordinary objects he finds in the street. Perhaps by design, perhaps by very fortunate circumstance, there’s a very subtle bit of humor in most of his photographs.
